I don’t think I can better the wonderful words written about Dan and Sarah’s wedding from both photographer, Katy Lunsford, and the English Wedding Blog, so I’ll direct you to their posts instead to read more about it and see Katy’s full set of images.
What neither of them mentioned, however, was that Katy was ably managing a baby daughter needing feeds in between taking all those beautiful photos! As if being a wedding photographer isn’t challenging enough! She wasn’t sure how that double duty was going to work out, so had asked me along to assist on the day, which I absolutely loved. She is so great to work with and I learnt so much from her.
Here is All Saints’ Church in Marple, Cheshire where our story takes place…

I was planted in prime position up at the front of the church to get shots during the vows, leaving Katy free to move around and get the entrance and exit moments.

The suave cameraman here had the signing of the register covered.

I love feet photos. I don’t know why. I have to remind myself when I realise I’m crouching taking shots of shoes for the 5th time at a wedding that I’ve probably got enough by that point. But I feel like they have so much to say–humour me!

A great part of being a second photographer to me, is having the chance to take nice, unawares portraits of the guests.

Onto the evening, we stayed at the church, where the main hall had been totally transformed whilst guests had been mingling and photos being taken. The look on Sarah’s face when she came in and saw it says it all.

From this point on in the evening, I became a human lightstand–an ‘exciting’ experience, crouching in the midst of a busy dancefloor with a flashgun! But the results are totally worth it, as you’ll see from Katy’s photographs.
And to finish up, (sorry Katy, I couldn’t resist), here she is hard at work.
